Liverpool "Dolphin Tale" is the featured showing for the “Advocates Winter Break Movie” event, sponsored by Advocates, Incorporated. The showing is set for 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20 at the Palace Theater, 2384 James Street, Syracuse. Individuals with developmental disabilities and their families may attend. Advocates, Incorporated, invites the individuals they serve, and their families, to this event. The concession stand will be open for purchasing refreshments. Admission to the movie is free but registration is required.
Advocates is hosting this event as a free family activity for the school winter break. Nick Cappoletti, Advocates executive director, says that by Advocates holding this event, special provisions can be made for the safety and comfort of individuals with special needs.
“It’s hard to find activities for kids during school breaks,” adds John Miranda, Advocates recreation director. “This event gives parents a break from having to having to find something to do.” The movie is based on the true story of a dolphin that has lost its tail, and is befriended by a young boy.
