Fayetteville church presents ‘Christian Songwriter of the Year’ Sunday

— The United Church of Fayetteville will present baritone David Griffiths, recently named Christian Songwriter of the Year by the International Singer Songwriter Association, at its 10:30 a.m. worship service Feb. 26.

Griffiths, who will sing with the UCF Choir, is a singer with a rich and powerful baritone voice who is highly regarded internationally as a musically sensitive performer. He holds degrees in both music and theology from Columbia Union College and a Masters of Music in Vocal Performance from The Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University.

A prolific composer and accomplished pianist, he has gained widespread recognition in addition to singing for his more than 300 compositions, his success as a teacher of both piano and voice, and skill in the recording studio. His recent performances have been as featured soloist with the Paul Hill Chorale and at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Washington, D.C.
