SYRACUSE Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central New York will officially open the doors to its new Ronald McDonald House this month. A public open house will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20. The community is invited to tour the new, larger house located at 1100 E. Genesee St. in Syracuse.
“We are excited to open our doors and welcome families into the new Central New York Ronald McDonald House,” said Beth Trunfio, executive director for Ronald McDonald House Charities of CNY. “It has taken many hearts to build this home and it wouldn’t have been possible without the tremendous support from the community, volunteers and our donors, who have helped to make this dream a reality.”
The new house is 100-percent accessible and will allow the organization to meet diverse needs and offer expanded services for new populations of guest families. The house features an elevator, guest rooms with private baths, a large family centered kitchen, a private registration area for guest families and a community room.
Ronald McDonald House Charities of CNY operates the CNY Ronald McDonald House 24 hours a day year-round as a “home away from home” for families whose children are hospitalized with serious illnesses or injuries.
