To the editor:
I would like to thank the Fayetteville Fire Department for their heroic efforts in rescuing my kitten out of a very tall tree on Saturday night, Nov. 10.
My 6-month-old kitten got out of my apartment and got himself stuck in a very tall pine tree. Not only did the fire department respond to my call for help, but they went over and above the call of duty to use all means they had to make sure that the kitten got down safely, which was no easy task. These dedicated professionals were so committed to their task, yet never losing sight of their compassion.
I am grateful that they were available at that particular time, and am truly blessed to live in a community that supports such extraordinary men and women. I wish I could thank each of you personally, but you know who you are. Thank you again for your amazing efforts.
