Sixth Annual Fayetteville Festival
Beard Park was busy with activity Saturday, as a host of local non-profit organizations set up booths at the annual Fayetteville Festival.
Festival-goers interacted from representatives from an array of non-profit community organizations, which set up booths throughout the park. Some of the festival highlights included a barbecue by the Fayetteville Fire Department, singers from Wellwood Middle School and the Fayetteville United Methodist Church, a children’s scavenger hunter, bounce houses, face painting, a Scout’s monkey bridge, a library book sale, and demonstrations from police and fire officials.
At 1 p.m., about 30 residents gathered in a circle with their pets, mostly dogs, during the United Church of Fayetteville's annual Blessing of the Animals.
The festival was followed by the Taste of Fayetteville from 4 to 7 p.m. and came to a spectacular finish with fireworks at dusk.
